Dec. 16--McALLEN, Texas--Northwest Airlines will start serving the Rio Grande Valley in 2004, with daily flights between McAllen and its Memphis, Tenn., hub beginning March 22.
The announcement was made during a Monday morning news conference at McAllen-Miller International Airport. Northwest will join Continental Airlines and American Airlines as the facility's third carrier.
Two flights will leave Memphis at 9:15 a.m. and 7:05 p.m. en route to MMIA. Two flights at 6 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. will leave McAllen to take passengers to Memphis.
