Japan Trader, Printer to Conduct Test on Integrated-Circuit Tags for Apparel.

Dec. 8--TOKYO--Midsize trading house Sumikin Bussan Corp. and printing firm Toppan Printing Co. will jointly conduct a test to use integrated circuit (IC) tags for Chinese-made apparel to better manage supply and distribution channels between China and Japan, officials of the two firms said Monday.

The test, to be conducted for two weeks from mid-December, will be the first of this kind involving IC tags that are delivered beyond international borders, the officials said.

The move is intended to help improve the efficiency of inventory management and export procedures with the use of IC tags, they said.
