Dec. 1--After Butte's Greg Smith suffered a year of setbacks -- selling a work-heavy retail business, getting divorced and nearly dying from pancreatitis -- he decided life was too short not to do something he loved.

"I almost cashed in the chips and decided it's time to do something. I want to enjoy life even if I starve to death," Smith said.
