Dec. 1--One by one, the women walk through the door of the fashionable Boulder home: the art collector, the patent attorney, the marketing executive, the stay-at-home mom.
They socialize and chitchat, but are really there to ogle and buy the faux designer purses and wallets piled on the coffee table, chair and couch.
Such genteel purse parties in Boulder, Highlands Ranch and other affluent enclaves are helping fuel a nationwide black market in counterfeit goods. The fake goods rip off the brand names of top designers such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci and Kate Spade.
