Nov. 26--Cate Strumbos walked into her favorite women's clothing store on a recent Sunday night five minutes to closing time.
Instead of telling her the store was about to close, the shop owner spent four hours outfitting Strumbos for the holidays and even delivered her roughly $8,000 in purchases to her Birmingham home.
Strumbos, 44, vice president of human resources for Alpha Stamping Co. in Livonia, hasn't shopped in a mall for years. Convenience and service are her top priorities, so she often shops at Tender in Birmingham for her clothes and goes online for gifts.
