Nov. 7--In recent months, the percentage of households able to afford a median-priced home in Los Angeles County has fallen to a level not seen since the early 1990s, according to one real estate economist.

In recent months, the percentage of households able to afford a median-priced home in Los Angeles County has fallen to a level not seen since the early 1990s, according to one real estate economist.

In September, only 24 percent of households in the county could afford to buy, down 7 percentage points from a year earlier, according to a report by the California Association of Realtors.
