Few people know that the "King of the Cowboys" was a dedicated big-game hunter, and that his pursuit often took him to the Dark Continent. In fact, Roy Rogers hunted in Africa four times--all four trips arranged by Seattle-based outfitters Chris and Bert Klineburger.
The safaris occurred in the late 1950s and early 1960s in the East African countries of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, or as Dusty Rogers, Roy's son said, "wherever the Man Mau uprising was located."
