Jul. 21--When Butte's Bill Rundle began pushing the idea for Evel Knievel Days several years ago, he got this response: "People look at you like you are crazy," he said.
But now, the Evel Knievel Days celebration is a Butte trademark. People come from all over the country to see the spectacle dedicated to one of the world's most famous daredevils. Events this year on July 29-31 range from a picnic in the park with Evel Knievel and a motorcycle safety session for kids to a platoon of daredevils risking life and limb on the streets of Butte.
