Jul. 20--SAN DIEGO -- Lindows Inc. said Monday that it has agreed to sell its controversial name to Microsoft Corp. for $20 million, settling Microsoft's trademark infringement lawsuits against the San Diego-based software-maker. The settlement eases the way for Lindows' proposed initial public stock offering.
The settlement's terms were disclosed in a document Lindows filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The document also sets the value of Lindows' pending offering at $40 million. The company stated in the filing that it expects to ...
