Jul. 22--Lucent Technologies reported its fourth consecutive profitable quarter Wednesday on strong sales of wireless gear.
The nation's largest phone equipment maker raised its guidance for the remainder of the fiscal year, predicting sales will be in the mid-single digits, up from a prior estimate of a low single-digit increase.
Shares of Murray Hill-based Lucent closed down 3 cents to $3.37, dragged down by overall stock market losses.
