The London headquarters of GUS has two things in common with the group's finance director, David Tyler FCMA: both are well appointed but neither is exceptionally high profile. The retail giant's nerve-centre is a stone's throw from Hyde Park. The interior is all glass, light wood, flat screens and suede, reflecting the organisation's crisp, modern approach. But the building itself is so tucked away down a back street that, looking in from the outside, you'd have no idea that the operation behind its tinted windows is one of the biggest in the UK.
