Oct. 6--HARVEYS LAKE -- Braving Sunday morning's chill, several hundred people walked around Harveys Lake to raise money for the fight against a disease that afflicts more than 16,000 of Luzerne County's 315,000 residents.
Officials hope the American Diabetes Association's Walk for Diabetes at Harveys Lake will raise at least $40,000 for local diabetes research and education, said Marion Munley, manager for the association's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton office.
