Oct. 4--The area's restaurants, hotels and stores can expect up to $10 million in business thanks to the WGC World Cup golf tournament coming to town next month, according to Kiawah Island Resort, the event's host. But that figure could drop if big names don't sign on to the tournament's 48-player roster.
Some of the giddiness of the hospitality community diminished Wednesday when Tiger Woods, the world's best golfer, said he would sit out the Kiawah Island tournament and rest up for the President's Cup in South Africa the following week.
