Oct. 9--Given the sheer number of foreign-born immigrants who call California home, and the big contribution they make to the state's economy, it was only a matter of time before an immigrant was elected governor.
That time finally arrived Tuesday, when California voters recalled Gov. Gray Davis and chose Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Austrian-born actor and body-builder, to replace him.
