Alberta has seen a greatly reduced grasshopper population this summer because of inclement weather this spring, but officials in Manitoba and Saskatchewan are warning producers to remain vigilant for later- developing infestations.
John Gavlovski, an Entomologist with Manitoba Agriculture and Food and Rural Initiatives, disagreed with rumors that the grasshopper population in Manitoba is below last year's level.
