Sep. 27--Paula Chaudry has lived in 30 homes in 36 years of marriage.
Melody Hughes has moved 11 times.
And Marti Krafve once moved three times in 19 months.
Such are the lives of many petroleum wives. It's common for families in the oil and gas industry to relocate because of work.
"I would equate it to the military," said Krafve, whose husband is the new Shell Bakersfield Refinery manager. If her name seems familiar, it's probably because her father-in-law is former basketball coach Ralph Krafve.
