Oct. 3--When Patty Nast Canton was organizing the Norwalk-based Nat Nast Co. in the late 1990s, all she had were a couple of bowling shirts and an idea. Her idea was to expand the reputation that her father, Nat Nast, developed more than 50 years ago as the nation's most respected bowling-shirt maker into a premier casual clothing manufacturer, backed by a memorable brand name.
So far, Canton looks like she is on track.
Canton told her story Wednesday night to more than 100 students of the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Development Academy gathered at the Norwalk Inn and Conference Center.
