Sep. 24--While many companies struggle to survive from one generation to the next, MHTN Architects has outlived nearly all its competitors to become one of Utah's best-known architectural firms.
But Lynn A. Jones, president and chief executive, insists there is no secret formula that enables a business to make it to its 80th anniversary, which MHTN celebrates today.
"The key is planning," Jones said. "At MHTN, the older generations have always made sure there's a new generation ready to take over and that there always is a mechanism to make that transition happen. Doing that is not as easy as it sounds."
