Concepts of Reincarnation within the Bible Despite all efforts to delete them, the Bible contains references to reincarnation. The Hebrew prophets of Scripture prophesied the return of Elijah. Isaiah tells of the coming of one who would be the forerunner of the Messiah: The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness: Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert the highway of our God.
