Sep. 13--A federal grand jury in Orlando has indicted two men on conspiracy and wire-fraud charges in what the government alleges was a scam that bilked Taiwanese investors out of more than $10 million.
The indictment alleges that Daniel M. Boyar and Michael J. Harte engaged in a wire and securities fraud to induce investors to buy stock in WestAmerica Corp. The duped investors were lured in part by talk of a sports-oriented tourist attraction and resort in Polk County on the site of the former Boardwalk and Baseball theme park.
