Twins catcher Joe Mauer, sidelined because of left knee problems, couldn't believe some of the radio talk shows the past week that had his catching career at an end and his future being as a first baseman.
"I think that's pretty crazy. I'm still only 21," Mauer said. "A lot of catchers have knee injuries and they bounce back from it. It's only my first year up here so I don't really pay much attention to it."
Mauer, who didn't make the trip east with the Twins so he could continue to rehabilitate the knee, doesn't know when he will be able to catch again.
