Sep. 3--CLAREMONT, N.H.--Alicia Beck is no stranger to Claremont -- in California, that is. But the new Main Street Claremont executive director is new to New Hampshire's Claremont and is looking to meet and greet everyone who has a stake in the city's downtown.
As a college student, Beck was a McNair fellow at Claremont Graduate School in Claremont, Calif., where she learned history, economics and a whole host of other subjects.
But she didn't learn that Claremont, Calif., was named for Claremont, N.H., until she applied for the job here. She hopes to learn a lot more as she helps revitalize downtown.
