Sep. 5--San Jose's KBAY-FM took its soft-rock format to San Francisco this week, the third major radio station to leave the South Bay in less than a decade.
The adult contemporary station, which plays music by artists such as Elton John, Celine Dion and Norah Jones, is now simulcast on its old frequency of 94.5 FM and on 93.3 FM, the former home of "The Wave," which played an eclectic mix of world music, rock and reggae.
South Bay listeners still can hear familiar San Jose disc jockeys Lissa Kreisler and Kirk Patrick in the morning, Kim Vestal at midday and Bob Kohtz during the afternoon drive. But critics contend that the ...
