Sep. 6--A whole new Chevrolet small car, the Aveo, based on a vehicle designed by South Korea's Daewoo, is about to hit the market, thanks to General Motors' partial takeover of the bankrupt automaker last year.

The Aveo goes on sale early next year as a 2004 model and will be built by Daewoo at a South Korean factory.

No, this still won't help those of you who bought Daewoo vehicles from dealers in the United States over the past three years or so; GM still won't be providing any kind of parts or service support to U.S. Daewoo owners, as it did not purchase that part of the Daewoo operations.
