Jul. 23--The $200 million Altamonte Town Center is under way, with demolition work starting today on 25 acres west of Altamonte Mall.
Altamonte Springs Investments, headed by Atlanta developer Michael Vlass, and the city of Altamonte Springs are doing the mixed-use project. Epoch Properties Inc. plans 324 apartments and a 560-space parking garage.
Unicorp National Developments -- the Orlando company that developed the Baldwin Park Village Center -- has signed on to do retail and restaurant space.
