Aug. 25--Georgia Crown Distributing is quietly moving its headquarters from Columbus to Henry County, with offices under construction west of McDonough.
The beverage bottler and distributor has been headquartered in Columbus for 65 years and is one of the state's biggest private companies, with sales of $730 million and 1,600 employees in three states.
Georgia Crown is building a headquarters office building, distribution warehouse and maintenance facility. Estimated total construction costs are $12.5 million, according to papers filed with the Henry County Building Department.
