Aug. 27--Gasoline prices, with Labor Day approaching, are nearing record levels with little relief in sight.
But those high prices are unlikely to change holiday travel plans.
AAA Texas expects about 2.52 million holiday travelers this year, an increase from last year's 2.5 million Labor Day travelers, said Rose Rougeau, AAA Texas spokeswoman.
"If people are affected by the high cost of gasoline, then they typically cut their trips short or stay closer to home," Rougeau said. "But they do not cancel their plans altogether."
