Jul. 24--Two favorite cars of Toyota enthusiasts over the years are about to be relegated to the annals of automotive history, the company's U.S. sales arm confirmed this week.

North America will no longer get the Celica sport coupe and the MR2 Spyder roadster after the 2005 model year, the company says. The decision was based on slow sales of these models and Toyota's focus on other products designed to reach consumers that the Celica and MR2 originally were aimed at.

Surprisingly, neither of these cars have done well in the United States since their arrival in their newest generations in early 2000.
