Nothing can beat the Beltex as a terminal sire under the current specifications, believes Cumbrian producer John Hall.
John and his brother Peter had a ram from the second importation of the breed in the early 1990s and such has been the success of the Beltex at Inglewood Edge, Dalston, near Carlisle, that there was no hesitation in going back into it when re-stocking after foot-and-mouth.
