Oct. 24--Finding alternative energy sources to power the region has been a key issue among planners, particularly as energy demand increases.
With that in mind, Brookhaven National Laboratory is mulling the creation of a center to help fledgling energy and environmental technology companies -- and possibly spark a new round of high-tech growth on the Island.
Ira Rubenstein, executive director of the Albany-based Environmental Business Association of New York State, says his 150-member group has been in talks with the Upton lab about a Center for Emerging Industries. He said he is scheduled to meet with lab officials ...
