Oct. 24--Clouds hanging over the mutual fund industry continued to darken yesterday as State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer said his investigation is growing and another Wall Street firm fired brokers implicated in the scandal.
In an interview with Bloomberg News in Albany, Spitzer said the universe of companies he is investigating "continues to expand," and "the number of entities that will be held liable both civilly and criminally is substantial."
