No, it's not a spelling mistake. There's only a one vowel difference, but the implications of Carmen Dufour's married name means she'll never be able to rest easy again.
There are two important dates in this book, which is essentially an autobiography of her marriage. The first is August 8, 1974 - the day of her wedding to Yeslam Bin Ladin (in accordance with convention, Carmen uses this variation of the name Bin Laden when referring to her husband).
