President Bush nominated Greg Jenner to the position of assistant Treasury secretary for tax policy, the White House announced last week.
The position's duties include overseeing the tax-exempt bond area, including new regulations affecting municipal bonds.
Jenner has been acting assistant Treasury secretary for tax policy since February when he replaced Pamela Olson, who stepped down to rejoin Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
The nomination requires confirmation by the Senate, which is in recess until Sept. 6.
