Oct. 17--LASALLE LOGO KEEPS NAME BUT LINKS TO PARENT: The green-and-gold shield that now adorns LaSalle Bank branches was added after more than a year of discussion and debate, according to the bank's top executive.

LaSalle and its Dutch parent, Amsterdam-based ABN Amro, wanted to link the bank to its international parent and not lose a venerable Chicago name, said Norman Bobins, LaSalle's president and chief executive.

The same strategy was followed with Standard Federal Bank in Michigan and Banco Real, ABN's bank in Brazil.
