Aug. 7--La Paloma, a $500 million power plant in western Kern County that went online earlier this year, is having some problems.
"Basically, the plant has been going through some technical problems," said Megan Doern, a spokeswoman for Maryland-based PG&E National Energy Group, the plant's developer.
La Paloma is a natural gas-fired, combined cycle plant with four combustion turbines. Units two and three have had some outages since May and July, respectively, said Doern, adding that unit four has also been in for some repairs.
