Jul. 30--Exxon Mobil Corporation yesterday became the latest major oil company to report a huge increase in second quarter profit, enjoying a windfall from high oil prices and higher refining margins.
Meanwhile, crude oil, gasoline and heating oil prices eased slightly when Russia's Justice Ministry gave permission for OAO Yukos Oil Co. to keep pumping. Word from Yukos Wednesday that the Russian government had ordered the country's biggest oil exporter to stop production in a dispute over back taxes and fees had sent crude oil for September delivery to a record $43.05 a barrel.
