DALLAS _ Southwest Airlines Co. flight attendants ratified their new contract Friday in big numbers, with 82 percent approving the four-year deal that their union called "industry-leading."
The vote comes after two years of difficult negotiations between the Dallas-based discounter and the Transport Workers Union Local 556, which ran an aggressive public awareness campaign that airline officials didn't like.
