Osceola County commissioners today are slated to approve contractual documents clearing the way for $360 million of revenue bonds to be sold for the construction of the county's long-sought convention center and hotel project.
However, an eleventh-hour proposal that could offer the county a less-costly convention center has been submitted by the Gaylord Palms Resort, a $450 million resort and convention center that opened in February 2002.
The 2.1-million-square-foot Gaylord Palms in the Kissimmee-St. Cloud resort area of Osceola County covers 68 acres. The resort has 1,406 guest rooms and its convention center has 400,000 square feet of meeting, ...
