IT is generally accepted that Britain's manufacturing industry needs to constantly improve its quality, cost and standards of delivery to stay competitive in international markets. According to the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), the government's skills agency, this can only be achieved if businesses, training providers and the LSC work together to fund skills development and training that directly meet the needs of UK manufacturers.
