A place that remains something of a secret despite being a leading tourist destination for several decades may seem hard to believe. But Crete, which has hosted legions of British bucket-and-spade holidays, is almost untouched by diggers carving out the foundations for second homes.
Now that is set to change. Leptos Estates, the large-scale Cypriot developer, is to build two developments near the delightful port of Chania on the north-east coast.
With resales booming as well, the property market is as hot as the climate.
