Maybe all this fervor about No. 4 Virginia Tech having to balance its offense is overrated. The Hokies aren't listening, and they're all the better for it at this point.
Virginia Tech (6-0 overall, 1-0 Big East) handled everything Boston College threw in its direction, and prevailed, 28-23, in its sternest test of the season in front of 42,826 at Alumni Stadium. For a while, it looked like the "upset special" all the Boston newspapers and some overzealous television talking heads had predicted would come true.
However, the Hokies weathered a slew of special teams and penalty troubles to keep alive ...
