PHILADELPHIA _ The sweat had not yet turned to salt on his long body before Kenyon Martin started ripping. "Look at the stat sheet," Martin said in June, moments after the Los Angeles Lakers completed their sweep of his New Jersey Nets to win the NBA championship. "It'll tell you (why the Nets lost)."
The statistics sheet revealed this: Keith Van Horn, the Nets' starting power forward and leading scorer in the regular season, was 3 of 7 from the field for seven points, well below his 18.2 career scoring average.
