Ramsey County Board Chairman Rafael Ortega will introduce not one but two anti-smoking ordinances on Tuesday.
The reason for the dual-track discussion: The board is split on whether to prohibit smoking at bars and restaurants or only at restaurants, Ortega said.
Ortega initially planned to introduce a Minneapolis-style ban, outlawing smoking in restaurant, bars, bowling alleys and pool halls. But he could not get a majority of the seven-member board to go along, he said.
