Oct. 20--Spokane is getting ready for her International close up.
The Davenport Hotel has added room service and live jazz music for the first time. Restaurants are breaking out fine linens, and even Avista was briefly considering turning on the Falls for camera crews.
For the first time since the Salt Lake Winter Olympics, an international ice skating competition will be held on American soil -- at the Spokane Arena.
"It's fair to say Spokane will be the center of the figure skating universe from Oct. 24 to Oct. 27," said Bob Dunlap, spokesman for the U.S. Figure Skating Association.
