Oct. 13--CHICAGO--In the Old West it was wise get out of town by high noon. In Chicago, it's "high moon."

The boating season officially ends with a nearly full moon at midnight Oct. 20. Boat owners who want to linger in Chicago harbors must move to a late-leaver harbor and purchase, for $210, a late-leaver permit, which stretches the season to Nov. 15. Late-leaver harbors are Belmont, Diversey and Burnham.

For those whose boats live along the Chicago River, the schedule of bridge openings is online at www.crowleys.com; click on "Bridge Info," then click "Chicago River Bridge Opening Schedule."
