CUBA-BORN triple jumper Yamile Aldama yesterday told UK Athletics they have thrown away a near-certain Olympic medal by not helping her become a British citizen.
The London-based athlete, who has a British husband, will represent Sudan in Athens after the African nation granted her nationality in January.
Although Aldama is happy with how the Sudanese have treated her, she still has not come to terms with losing her battle to claim a UK passport.
