ST. LOUIS _ Has Tony La Russa really been the Cardinals manager for seven seasons? OK, so he's no Red Schoendienst in terms of length of service, but La Russa is having a long run in St. Louis. He's an enduring presence in an unstable, high-turnover profession. And though La Russa turns 58 on Oct. 4, good luck in finding the gray hair. He's still fresh.
