When Capannari Ice Cream first opened in 2001, the family-owned eatery quickly became a destination in downtown Mount Prospect.
When Chicago Magazine named Capannari's ice cream "best in Chicago" in 2002, the store began to develop a regional following.
Now, the store is finding itself in a national spotlight, having been named as one of the country's best ice cream parlors in "Everybody Loves Ice Cream," a new book written by author and self- described "ice cream nut" Shannon Jackson Arnold.
"We're absolutely thrilled," said Katie Dolan Dix, co-owner of the store.
