Aug. 4--Local caffeine kingpin Sheila Dormier already owns two drive-through coffee kiosks and a bean-roasting business.
She's now planning to expand her mini empire by opening two Bakersfield coffee shops --one downtown, one in the southwest -- by February.
Customers have been demanding it, she said.
Dormier, 58, is just one player in the percolating local coffee business. Entrepreneurs are competing with each other as well as behemoth Starbucks Corp. for Bakersfield's sliver of the $6 billion coffee retail business.
