Low-carb diets are followed by 12% of the public and appeal more to upper-income individuals, with 22% of consumers with household incomes over $75,000 on such a diet, according to the latest research on low-carb diets from Opinion Dynamics Corp. (ODC), which surveyed 900 national adult consumers the week of Mar. 1. In the company's previous studies, conducted in December and January, 11% of people said they were on a low-carb diet and 15% of people with household incomes over $75,000 per year were on a low-carb diet. Overall, between the three studies, 17% of people earning over $75,000 per year said they are on a low-carb diet.
